Women are Needed in the IT WorldOnly 24% of the IT workforce in 2008 was women but 57% of all professionals in the workplace are women. So Ladies…. why aren’t you in the IT workforce? According to the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT) of the 1,526,000 computer support specialist jobs in the US by 2016 – colleges will graduate only 53%. That leaves 717,220 UNFILLED jobs. Companies have a couple options…outsource to other countries and face the higher costs and higher customer service complaints or attract a different kind of person to meet those needs. Women make up more than half (57%) of all professionals in the workplace but in 2008 women only represented 24% of the IT workforce. LADIES…the IT industry NEEDS you!!!
